Mental Health Training & Self-care Packages

Did you know that when you use our Training Packages you support local families?

 

We reinvest all surplus in fully-funded sessions sessions for

local children, young people and families.

Packages can be tailored to your needs, but typically we provide:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Training Packages

  • Family Support Packages

  • Self-care and Wellbeing Packages

Cocoon Kids offers training and support packages for schools and organisations.

 

  • Our Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Training Packages cover a range of topics, including: bereavement support for Covid-19, Trauma, ACEs, self-harm, transitions, anxiety, sensory integration and regulatory strategies. Other topics are available on request.

  • We offer Support Packages for those families and other professionals. This may include support which is specific to the work with one child or young person, or more general support.

  • We also offer Wellbeing and Self-care Packages for your organisation. All resources used are provided, and each member will receive a Play Pack and other goodies to keep at the end.

  • Training and Support Package sessions can be tailored to your specific needs, but typically run for between 60-90 minutes.

We know that your time and peace of mind is precious:

  • we organise and run all aspects of the training and can customise our training to best meet your needs

  • we provide all training materials and resources

 

 

We know how important flexibility is to you:

  • we are a one-stop service for families

  • we support families with relational support beyond the sessions

  • we can arrange training and support at times that suit you, including holidays, breaks, after work and school, and weekends

 

 

We know how important offering a personalised service is:

  • we use neuroscience evidenced-based play, sensory and creative therapy skills as well as talk-based approaches... in our Self-care and Wellbeing Packages! Experience first-hand for yourself how and why sensory regulatory resources work. Each attendee will also receive a Play pack and other resources to keep.

 

We know how vital a being supported in the most up-to-date approach is: 

  • our training and practice is Trauma informed

  • we are trained and knowledgeable in Mental Health, Attachment Theory and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), as well as infant, child and adolescent development

  • our training supports you and provides practical skills and strategies to use in your work

 

 

We know how important helping families, children and young people to self-regulate is:

  • we work with families to explain how and why sensory and regulatory resources help children and young people better self-regulate

  • we sell Play Packs for families to support the work beyond the sessions

 

 

We know how important it is to work collaboratively:

  • we work with families and carers and can provide Family Support Packages

  • we support and work with families to build stronger relationships in our meetings and reviews

  • we work with you and other professionals and provide Support and Training Packages

 

 

We use all funding to provide low cost sessions:

  • we use all additional funding from training to reduce fees for the sessions

  • this helps us to offer low cost or free sessions to families on benefits, on low incomes, or who live in social housing

 

We know how important consistency is:

  • due to Covid-19 support meeting and assessments may be in-person, online or by phone

  • we will work with families to provide support at a day and time that suits them

We know that providing good outcomes from family support is essential:

  • families are an integral and active participants in their support

  • we use a range of standardised outcome measure to inform and assess change and progress

  • we use a range of family friendly assessments

  • we assess our effectiveness through feedback and outcome measures

Intervention Packages

Generally, the intervention package follows the procedure outlined below. Personalisation to suit your needs is possible. Please contact us for more details.

  • Referral (form is available on request)

  • Meeting with referer

  • Meeting with parent or carer and their child, for initial assessment and discussion of therapeutic intervention plan

  • Assessment meeting with child or young person and their parent or carer

  • Therapy sessions with child or young person

  • Review meetings with school, organisation, parent or carer and their child, every 6-8 weeks

  • Planned ending

  • Final meetings with school or organisation, and with parent or carer and their child, and written report

  • Play Pack support resources for home or school use

We belong to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT). As BAPT trained Creative Counsellors and Play Therapists, our approach is person and child-centred.
